Ingredients
Scale
Filling
- 1 pound ground pork
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
Assembly
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Cook the pork and vegetables: In a large skillet, cook the ground pork over medium heat until browned and fully cooked. Add shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, and grated ginger. Continue cooking for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly.
- Assemble the egg rolls: Place one egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with a corner facing towards you. Spoon 2-3 tablespoons of the pork and vegetable filling onto the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, and roll tightly to seal. Repeat this process for all 12 wrappers.
- Preheat and prepare the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray each egg roll with cooking spray to help achieve a golden, crispy exterior.
- Air fry the egg rolls: Place the egg rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown. If needed, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Serve: Carefully remove the egg rolls from the air fryer and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy them with your favorite dipping sauces like sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce.
Notes
- You can prepare the filling ahead of time and refrigerate it to make assembly quicker.
- Ensure the egg rolls are tightly rolled to prevent filling from leaking during cooking.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, these egg rolls can be baked in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- For a gluten-free option, substitute soy sauce with tamari and use gluten-free egg roll wrappers.
- Use caution when handling the hot air fryer basket and the cooked egg rolls.
