Description

Deliciously sweet and savory bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with creamy goat cheese and crunchy pecans, baked to perfection. This appetizer combines rich flavors and textures, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 30 dried dates
  • 4 oz soft goat cheese
  • 30 pecan nuts
  • 15 slices bacon (cut in half)

Instructions

  1. Prep: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with baking parchment to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Assemble: Carefully pit each date if not already pitted. Stuff each date with a scant teaspoon of soft goat cheese and a whole pecan nut. Then wrap each stuffed date with half a slice of bacon, securing if needed.
  3. Bake: Place the bacon-wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the hot oven for 13-15 minutes or until the bacon turns crisp and slightly browned and the cheese inside becomes melty. Allow to cool just enough to handle before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to use soft goat cheese for easier stuffing and creamier texture.
  • If dates are not pitted, be sure to carefully remove the pits before stuffing.
  • You can secure the bacon with toothpicks if you find it difficult to keep it wrapped while baking.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature for optimal flavor and texture.
  • This recipe can be prepared ahead by assembling and refrigerating, then baking just before serving.
