Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 30 dried dates
- 4 oz soft goat cheese
- 30 pecan nuts
- 15 slices bacon (cut in half)
Instructions
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with baking parchment to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Assemble: Carefully pit each date if not already pitted. Stuff each date with a scant teaspoon of soft goat cheese and a whole pecan nut. Then wrap each stuffed date with half a slice of bacon, securing if needed.
- Bake: Place the bacon-wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the hot oven for 13-15 minutes or until the bacon turns crisp and slightly browned and the cheese inside becomes melty. Allow to cool just enough to handle before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to use soft goat cheese for easier stuffing and creamier texture.
- If dates are not pitted, be sure to carefully remove the pits before stuffing.
- You can secure the bacon with toothpicks if you find it difficult to keep it wrapped while baking.
- Serve warm or at room temperature for optimal flavor and texture.
- This recipe can be prepared ahead by assembling and refrigerating, then baking just before serving.
