Description

A rich and flavorful Blackened Steak and Shrimp Alfredo combining perfectly seasoned and seared steak and shrimp with creamy homemade Alfredo sauce served over tender penne pasta. This hearty dish offers a delightful blend of Cajun blackened spices and creamy Italian comfort, ideal for a satisfying dinner with a touch of elegance.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 ounces penne pasta

Seafood & Meat

  • 1 pound large shrimp, raw and deveined
  • 1 pound top sirloin steak, cut into cubes

Sauce

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Seasoning & Others

  • Blackened seasoning, to taste
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil, for cooking
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the shrimp: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the shrimp generously with blackened seasoning. Cook shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Cook the steak: In the same skillet, season the cubed top sirloin steak with blackened seasoning. Sear the steak cubes for 3-4 minutes on each side until they reach your preferred doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside with the shrimp.
  4. Make the Alfredo sauce: Melt the unsalted butter in the skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy whipping cream and bring to a gentle simmer, cooking for about 5 minutes to slightly thicken. Gradually whisk in the freshly grated parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Combine everything: Add the cooked penne pasta, shrimp, and steak cubes to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to combine and heat through. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Serve and garnish: Divide the Blackened Steak and Shrimp Alfredo onto plates and garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh, colorful finish. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use freshly grated parmesan cheese instead of pre-grated for a smoother sauce.
  • Adjust blackened seasoning amount to suit your spice preference.
  • Cooking times for steak can be adjusted depending on desired doneness.
  • This recipe pairs well with a crisp green salad or steamed vegetables.
  • Leftovers can be stored refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
