Ingredients
Scale
Butter Mixture
- 1/4 cup butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon garlic butter
- 1/4 teaspoon fresh basil (minced)
Sandwich Components
- 4 large sesame seed buns
- 12 slices honey ham
- 6 slices baby swiss cheese
- 12 slices mesquite turkey
- 8 cherry tomatoes
- 4 skewers
- Reynolds Wrap Non Stick Foil (for wrapping skewers)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F to prepare for baking the skewers.
- Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, garlic butter, and minced fresh basil until well combined for a flavorful glaze.
- Butter the Buns: Generously brush the inside of both halves of each sesame seed bun with the garlic butter mixture to infuse flavor and add moisture.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Layer each sandwich by placing one slice of cheese, followed by three slices of meat, another slice of cheese, an additional three slices of meat, and a final slice of cheese. This creates a total of six meat slices and three cheese slices per sandwich. You can mix ham with Swiss and turkey with cheddar to your preference.
- Cut Sandwiches: Cut each assembled sandwich into four equal pieces to create smaller, manageable portions for skewering.
- Create Skewers: Thread the sandwich pieces onto skewers, alternating different types of sandwiches with cherry tomatoes between each piece. This adds color and freshness to your skewers.
- Wrap Skewers: Wrap each skewer tightly with Reynolds Wrap Non Stick Foil to keep them intact and retain moisture during baking.
- Bake: Place the wrapped skewers on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until heated through and the cheese is melted.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the skewers from the oven, unwrap, and serve warm as tasty finger food or snacks.
Notes
- You can substitute different cheeses or deli meats according to your preference.
- Ensure the skewers are wrapped tightly in foil to prevent drying out during baking.
- Cherry tomatoes add a fresh burst and can be replaced with other vegetables like olives or pickles if desired.
- These skewers are ideal for parties, picnics, or casual family meals.
