Cheese Mixture:
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Additional:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- Chopped green onions, diced tomatoes, and sliced jalapeños for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the beef: In a skillet, cook onion, garlic, and ground beef until browned. Add taco seasoning, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce. Simmer.
- Prepare the cheese mixture: Mix sour cream and cream cheese until smooth. Stir into the skillet.
- Assemble the casserole: Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish. Top with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses.
- Bake: Bake for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted.
