Ingredients
Scale
Steak Bites
- 1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
Rotini Pasta
- 8 oz rotini pasta (or any pasta shape of your choice)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare and Season the Steak: Cut the sirloin steak into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, toss the steak bites with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Cook the Steak Bites: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon butter. Once melted and hot, add the steak bites in a single layer. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side or until browned and cooked to your preferred level of doneness. Remove steak bites from skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (usually 8-10 minutes). Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In the same skillet used for steak, melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Gradually stir in grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella until cheese melts and sauce thickens. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is achieved.
- Toss Pasta and Finish Dish: Add the cooked rotini pasta to the cheese sauce and toss well to coat. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Return the steak bites to the skillet, folding them gently into the creamy pasta.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for a burst of color and freshness. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your cheesy steak bites and rotini pasta.
Notes
- Use any cut of steak you prefer, such as ribeye or strip steak, for different flavor profiles.
- For a lower fat version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or milk, but the sauce will be less rich.
- You can add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the pasta for added nutrition and flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Allow steak bites to rest a few minutes before serving to retain juices.
