Description

These Chocolate Dipped Rice Krispie Treat Pops are a fun and festive twist on the classic treat, perfect for parties or special occasions. Crispy rice cereal bars are transformed into adorable pops by inserting a straw, then dipped in rich dark cocoa candy melts and decorated with bright pink candy drizzle and colorful sprinkles. They’re easy to make and delightfully delicious!

Ingredients

Scale

Rice Krispie Treat Pops

  • 8 Rice Krispies Treat Bars (0.78 oz each, or equivalent homemade krispie treats)
  • Eight 6” Paper Straws

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 Cup Dark Cocoa Candy Melts
  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil (divided)

Decoration

  • 1/4 Cup Bright Pink Candy Melts
  • About 3 Tbsp Sprinkles (color of choice)

Instructions

  1. Insert Straws: Firmly press a paper straw about three-quarters of the way into each rice krispie treat, creating a sturdy handle for the pops.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: In a microwave-safe cup or small bowl, combine the dark cocoa candy melts with half the vegetable oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, about 90 seconds total.
  3. Dip Treats in Chocolate: Dip half of each rice krispie treat pop into the melted dark chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off or gently wiping it on the rim of the bowl to avoid drips.
  4. Add Sprinkles: Press the chocolate-coated bottom of each pop firmly into the sprinkles. Set the pops sprinkle-side down on a flat surface and allow the chocolate to harden completely, about 20 minutes.
  5. Melt Pink Candy Melts: Repeat the melting process with the pink candy melts and the remaining vegetable oil. Let the melted pink candy cool slightly for about five minutes until warm but not hot.
  6. Drizzle Pink Chocolate: Using a fork, quickly and carefully drizzle the pink candy melts over the chocolate-covered portion of the pops for a decorative effect. Allow to harden. Optionally, drizzle the other side for more coverage.

Notes

  • Use paper straws or sturdy sticks to make the pops easy to hold.
  • Be sure the candy melts are smooth and not overheated to prevent graininess.
  • Press sprinkles on while the chocolate is still wet for best adherence.
  • Allow ample drying time to ensure the chocolate sets firmly before serving or packaging.
  • Customize sprinkles and candy melt colors to match any party theme or holiday.
