Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
- 12 slices of cooked bacon
- 6 large eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese
Topping
- 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons of chopped chives or green onions
- 3 tablespoons of melted butter
- 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare it for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Buns: Cut the slider buns in half horizontally without separating them completely. Place the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish.
- Cook Bacon: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until they turn crispy. Remove and drain them on paper towels to remove excess grease.
- Whisk Eggs: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Scramble Eggs: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a skillet over medium heat. Pour in the egg mixture and scramble gently until the eggs are cooked but still soft and creamy. Remove from heat.
- Assemble Sliders: Spread mayonnaise evenly on the bottom halves of the buns. Layer scrambled eggs over the mayo, then add crispy bacon slices and cheddar cheese slices. Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese layer.
- Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, and chopped chives. Brush this mixture generously over the top halves of the buns.
- Add Sesame Seeds: Sprinkle sesame seeds over the buttered tops if using, for added texture and flavor.
- Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until the cheese melts and the sliders are heated through.
- Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes to brown the tops until golden and slightly crispy. Remove from oven and serve warm.
Notes
- Use Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter, softer slider or regular slider buns based on your preference.
- Make sure to not overcook scrambled eggs; soft and creamy eggs work best for these sliders.
- To save time, you can cook bacon ahead and keep warm.
- The Dijon butter topping adds a nice tang and color, don’t skip it!
- Sesame seeds are optional but add a nice texture and visual appeal.
- These sliders can be assembled a day ahead and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
