Description
Crispy Air Fryer Bacon is a simple and quick recipe to prepare perfectly crispy bacon strips using an air fryer. This method minimizes smoke by adding water to the air fryer basket and cooks the bacon evenly to achieve a deliciously crunchy texture without the mess of stovetop frying.
Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 8 strips thick-cut bacon
- ¼ cup water (to reduce smoking)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the air fryer basket: Pour ¼ cup of water into the bottom of the air fryer basket to help reduce smoke during cooking. Alternatively, you can place a layer of bread in the basket instead of water to absorb excess grease.
- Arrange the bacon: Place the thick-cut bacon strips in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap for uniform cooking.
- Cook the bacon: Air fry the bacon for 12 to 16 minutes, depending on your preferred crispiness. For thick-cut bacon, aim for 12-16 minutes, and for standard cut, cook 8-10 minutes.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on the air fryer model and thickness of the bacon.
- For less smoke, keep an eye on the water level and add more if it evaporates.
- You can swap water with bread slices at the bottom of the basket for smoke absorption.
- Ensure bacon strips are placed flat for even cooking and maximum crispiness.
