Description

These Crispy Homemade Fried Cheese Bites are the perfect snack or appetizer for any occasion. With a crunchy exterior and gooey melted cheese inside, they are sure to be a hit with everyone!

Cheese Bites:

  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (or cheese curds), cut into 1-inch cubes

Breading:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For Frying:

  • Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cut and Prep Cheese: Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1-inch cubes and pat them dry.
  2. Set Up Breading Station: Prepare three bowls with flour, egg and milk mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
  3. Bread the Cheese: Dredge each cheese cube in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat for a double coating.
  4. Freeze: Place the coated cheese bites in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  5. Fry: Heat oil to 350°F, fry the cheese bites until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara or dipping sauce.

  • You can use different cheeses for variety.
  • Chill cheese before frying to prevent melting too quickly.
