Cheese Bites:
- 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (or cheese curds), cut into 1-inch cubes
Breading:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1½ cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
For Frying:
- Vegetable oil
Instructions
- Cut and Prep Cheese: Cut the mozzarella cheese into 1-inch cubes and pat them dry.
- Set Up Breading Station: Prepare three bowls with flour, egg and milk mixture, and seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Bread the Cheese: Dredge each cheese cube in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and coat with breadcrumbs. Repeat for a double coating.
- Freeze: Place the coated cheese bites in the freezer for 30 minutes.
- Fry: Heat oil to 350°F, fry the cheese bites until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara or dipping sauce.
Notes
- You can use different cheeses for variety.
- Chill cheese before frying to prevent melting too quickly.
