Description

This Layered Cream Cheese and Salsa Dip is a quick and easy appetizer that is perfect for parties or gatherings. Creamy, tangy, and flavorful layers of cream cheese, salsa, cheese, and veggies create a delicious dip that pairs perfectly with tortilla chips or crackers.

Ingredients

Scale

Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon taco seasoning

Salsa Layer:

  • 1 cup chunky salsa (mild or medium)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • Optional: chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cream Cheese Layer: In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning until smooth and well combined. Spread the mixture evenly into the bottom of a shallow serving dish or pie plate.
  2. Salsa Layer: Spoon the salsa over the cream cheese layer and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the salsa, then top with chopped tomatoes, black olives, and green onions.
  3. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
  4. Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced veggies.

Notes

  • Use whipped cream cheese for a fluffier texture.
  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter option.
  • This dip can be made up to 1 day in advance and stored covered in the fridge.
