Instructions
- Sauté Aromatics: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and jalapeño and sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Add Seasonings: Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and salt.
- Thicken Sauce: Whisk milk and cornstarch in a bowl, then pour into the saucepan. Cook until slightly thickened, about 2–3 minutes.
- Melt Cheeses: Reduce heat, add American and Monterey Jack cheeses gradually, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Adjust Consistency: If too thick, add milk. Stir in cilantro if desired. Serve warm with chips.
