Fruit Salad Dressing Ingredients
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup packed fresh mint leaves
- Zest of 1 lime
Instructions
- Make the syrup: In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring occasionally until all the sugar has completely dissolved.
- Infuse flavors: Remove the saucepan from heat, then add the fresh mint leaves and lime zest to the hot syrup. Allow the mixture to steep for 20 minutes to extract the flavors.
- Strain and store: Strain the infused syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove the mint leaves and lime zest. Transfer the clear syrup to a sealed container and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- This dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- Use freshly harvested mint leaves for best flavor.
- The dressing is excellent poured over mixed fruit salads or drizzled on individual servings of fruit.
