  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Slow Cooker Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water for thickening (optional)


Instructions

  1. Season and Sear the Chicken: Pat the chicken thighs dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, and oregano. Sear the chicken in a skillet until golden brown.
  2. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Transfer the seared chicken to the slow cooker. Add chicken broth, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and onion to the slow cooker.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours until the chicken is tender.
  4. Thicken the Sauce: If desired, whisk in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. Return the chicken to the slow cooker and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
  5. Serve: Serve the chicken warm with your choice of sides.

  • For boneless skinless chicken thighs, reduce cooking time by 1 hour.
