Description

This refreshing Spa Water Sangria is a light, invigorating cocktail perfect for warm weather gatherings. Combining dry white wine, gin, fresh honeydew melon, cucumber, and mint, it’s a bubbly, naturally sweetened drink that offers a clean and crisp flavor. With sparkling water added just before serving, this sangria balances fruitiness and effervescence for a delightful, thirst-quenching experience.

Ingredients

Scale

Liquids

  • 1 750 ml bottle dry white wine
  • ¾ cup gin
  • 1 cup sparkling water or club soda, chilled

Sweeteners

  • 2 tablespoons superfine sugar

Produce

  • ½ honeydew melon, cubed
  • ½ seedless cucumber, sliced
  • ½ cup packed fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a large pitcher, combine the dry white wine, gin, superfine sugar, honeydew melon cubes, sliced seedless cucumber, and fresh mint leaves. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved to ensure an even sweetness throughout the drink.
  2. Chill and Infuse: Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, allowing the flavors of the melon, cucumber, and mint to infuse the wine and gin mixture. For best results, let it chill longer if time permits, enhancing the depth of flavor.
  3. Add Sparkling Water and Serve: Just before serving, gently pour in the chilled sparkling water or club soda. Stir lightly to combine without losing the effervescence. Serve the sangria over ice in lowball or stemless wine glasses for a crisp, refreshing presentation.

Notes

  • Use a dry white wine such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio for the best balance.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding a little more or less superfine sugar according to taste.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the wine and gin with additional sparkling water and a splash of white grape juice.
  • Letting the mixture infuse overnight intensifies the fruit flavors.
  • Serve immediately after adding sparkling water to maintain the bubbles.
